What is a Certified Translation?
An English Translation Accompanied by a Statement of AccuracyA Certified Translation combines an English translation with a signed statement identifying the source document, language pair, preparer, date, and the preparer's statement concerning the completeness and accuracy of the translation. Our service focuses on Japanese-to-English translation.
The Certification of Translation Accuracy is prepared by a licensed Gyoseishoshi. This describes who prepared the certification; it does not represent a decision by a receiving authority or confer a separate public status on the translated document.
Names, dates, addresses, seals, marginal notes, and document structure are reflected in the English translation.
The certificate identifies the document and language pair and includes a statement concerning completeness and accuracy.
Passport spellings, existing English records, and terminology supplied by the receiving authority should be shared in advance.
PDF files or paper copies are delivered in the format and quantity agreed at quotation.

Certified Translation FAQ
Common Questions About Japanese-to-English TranslationWhat types of documents can be translated?
We review Japanese documents issued or prepared in Japan. Please send every page, including handwritten entries, reverse-side text, attachments, notes, and seals, so the scope can be assessed.
What appears on the certification?
It normally identifies the source document, source and target languages, preparer, date, and a statement concerning completeness and accuracy, together with a signature. Instructions supplied by the receiving authority are reviewed before preparation.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Please provide every page, the number of copies, destination country, receiving authority, purpose, deadline, and any instructions or forms. The quotation reflects document type, volume, copies, and receiving-authority instructions.
Do you handle destinations outside the five countries?
No. Translation and authentication rules differ by jurisdiction, including sworn translator systems, locally registered translator systems, consular legalization routes, and institution-specific forms. For that reason, this service is limited to Japanese-to-English translation for documents intended for the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, New Zealand, and the Philippines.
