Apostille Japan handles MOFA apostille procedures and Certified Translation for Japanese documents submitted to the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, New Zealand, and the Philippines.
The required process may differ even for the same type of Japanese document depending on the receiving authority, purpose of submission, issuing authority, and instructions provided for the specific procedure. We therefore confirm these points before determining the Japan-side authentication and translation steps.
Our current destination scope is limited to five countries so that each matter can be reviewed against the document and receiving-authority requirements within our service scope. For an initial inquiry, please provide the destination country, receiving authority, document name, desired deadline, and whether the document has already been issued.

He was registered as a Gyoseishoshi (Japanese Administrative Scrivener) on May 15, 2026, and Apostille Japan opened on May 30, 2026.
A Note on Gyoseishoshi Authority: A Gyoseishoshi is a Japanese national qualification under the Gyoseishoshi Act. Within the scope permitted by Japanese law, a Gyoseishoshi may prepare and submit documents to government agencies, including apostille applications.
Why Is the Current Service Scope Limited to Five Destinations?
Current Destination ScopeApostille Japan currently handles Japanese documents intended for the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, New Zealand, and the Philippines. Authentication and translation requirements may differ not only by destination country but also by receiving authority, document type, issuing authority, and purpose of submission.
For that reason, we limit the current destination scope and confirm the required Japan-side steps for each matter rather than treating one country as having one fixed authentication route.
Japanese documents intended for receiving authorities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, New Zealand, and the Philippines are within our current destination scope.
